Large luxury cruise ships are internationally recognized as high-tech and high value-added ship products. The ability to construct luxury cruise ships represents the advanced level of a country’s shipbuilding industry, and is a significant indicator of a country’s comprehensive scientific and technological level, comprehensive industry, and comprehensive national strength. With the operation of China’s first domestically produced large cruise ship, the “Adora”, and the expected trial voyage of the second domestically produced large cruise ship in 2026, coupled with the gradual return of international large cruise ships, the Chinese international cruise market has launched again, and the vitality and momentum of the cruise market will be once again stimulated. The path of high-quality development of the international cruise economy will continue to deepen and solidify.
The cruise economy has a long industrial chain, strong driving force, and wide spillover scope, which is of great significance in promoting the expansion of domestic demand, unleashing consumption potential, cultivating development momentum, and promoting the benign interaction of domestic and international dual circulation. The country is also continuously introducing favorable policies to increase support for the cruise economy. Next, how shipbuilding companies can accelerate the realization of independent design, construction, and supporting of cruise ships, how domestic and foreign cruise companies can innovate their business models, and how governments and regulatory agencies can improve the business environment for cruise ships are all key concerns in the industry.
The “2025 Future Cruise China Summit” will be held in Shanghai on May 29-30, 2025. The forum brings together government leaders, global cruise industry executives, representatives of the entire cruise industry chain, cruise industry elites, and representatives of major manufacturers to explore future innovation and trends in the cruise industry, exchange successful experiences and excellent resources in their respective fields of industry collaboration, and seek the best partners.
